2021-01-26 / Webinar med Robert Gallo
Dr. Robert Gallo is an experienced scientist who has made groundbreaking discoveries since the Nixon era. Robert Gallo began his career by fighting the established orthodoxy to prove that retroviruses exist in humans, and he was the first to identify a human retrovirus – human T cell leukemia virus, the only virus known to cause leukemia. This paved the way to his most notorious accomplishment: the discovery that HIV was the cause of AIDS, and the further development of HIV blood test. Gallo, who is the director of the Institute of Human Virology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, continues to search for answers to the mysteries that have vexed him for decades – he now oversees several ongoing studies, including a promising HIV vaccine trial in humans.
Dr. Robert Gallo was joined by three panelists: Prof. Anders Vahlne, Prof. Jan Lötvall and Assoc. Prof. Peter Horal.

2020-08-09 SUNDAY SOFA #5
In this Sunday sofa we are talking about herd immunity - what does it mean and what do we think about it? Schools are soon opening and many are worried. How does Covid-19 affect children and are they contagious or not? We are also talking about face masks.

Here are some advice from the program to make the school a safer place:
1. Replace compulsory schooling with compulsory education – let risk groups teach their children at home whenever possible.
2. Face masks for everyone.
3. Keep distance in classrooms. Never gather students in groups larger than one class, including during lunch breaks.
4. Ensure good ventilation but without AC or internal ventilation. Ventilate by opening windows between lessons and keep the windows open whenever possible.
5. All sport activities should take place outdoor.
6. Test-track-isolate! Provide regular and free testing. In case of positive case, implement tracking and quarantine. Close class(es) if necessary.
7. Start schooling gradually, that is not all schools/classes at the same time.
In Sunday Sofa we talk about current issues around Covid-19 and the content is largely based on the questions we receive via our Facebook page.
Many thanks to everyone who submits questions, ckeep up the great work:
